About Me
I'm Jennifer Laughran, and I'm a Senior Agent at the Andrea Brown Literary Agency. I represent books for Children and Young Adults. Some weekends I also host the terrific YA and Middle Grade events series at my local independent bookstore.
Bookselling is in my blood. I got my first bookstore job when I was twelve, doing inventory and getting paid in copies of Sweet Valley High. I went on to become a pro bookseller, buyer and event coordinator for bookstores across the country.
I've been at the agency since 2007, and in that time have sold hundreds of books to publishers. I consider agenting to be something of a natural extension to what I was doing as a bookseller, just on a more "meta" scale. I'm an evangelist for my authors and illustrators, and love to see their books well-published and in the hands of eager readers. And I'm lucky enough that I get to work with these creators not just for a book, but for a career.
